Engagement process

How a Content Creekbase documentation consult moves from first note to delivered brief.

Documentation consulting succeeds when both sides know the sequence. This page is the map we use for audits, architecture workshops, and writing packages.

  1. Inquiry

You write with a short description of your documentation systems, knowledge base tools, and the friction you already feel. We confirm fit within two business days.

  2. Scoping call

A thirty-minute conversation to list surfaces in scope, access constraints, and decision-makers. We decline work that needs a product build rather than editorial and structural consulting.

  3. Proposal

You receive a written scope, timeline, fee basis, and deliverables list. Work starts after written acceptance and any agreed deposit.

  4. Fieldwork

Interviews, page sampling, and workshop sessions. You keep ownership of your tools; we work inside the access you grant.

  5. Delivery

Audit brief, architecture model, or drafted pages — plus a follow-up call. Retainers begin only if you choose ongoing editorial hours.
